August 22, 2024 – The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced that Starlink, the satellite internet service, will officially begin its operations in Ghana by the end of this month. This significant development comes after the successful conclusion of all necessary administrative and licensing procedures with the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Starlink’s operations in Ghana will be managed by Space X Starlink GH LTD, the local entity responsible for the deployment and management of this cutting-edge internet service in the country.

The National Communications Authority (NCA), established through an Act of Parliament in December 1996, plays a crucial role in regulating and overseeing electronic communications activities in Ghana. The NCA’s mandate, outlined in the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769), includes licensing and ensuring that all communication services in the country meet the required standards.
