WhatsApp latest Update: the popular instant messaging application, has released its latest beta update version 2.23.5.9 via the Google Play Beta Program. This update includes two new features that aim to improve user experience and privacy.

The first feature is the ability to report status updates. Users can now report any status that they believe violates WhatsApp’s “Terms of Service.” This feature has already been released for some beta testers that installed the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.74 update from the TestFlight app. Now, it is available to all users on the latest Android beta.

The reported status will be forwarded to WhatsApp’s moderation team, who will review it for compliance with their “Terms of Service.” If the team finds that the status update is in violation, the user’s account may be suspended.

It is important to note that this new feature does not compromise end-to-end encryption. This encryption technology ensures that only the sender and receiver of the messages or calls can access the content, and not even WhatsApp, Meta, or any proxy provider.

The second feature in this update is an always-available mute button. Previously, WhatsApp had released this feature back in 2017, but the mute button was only visible when users received a large number of messages from a contact or group. With this update, the mute button is always visible, providing users with more control over their notifications and privacy.
